I've installed the hack with no problems including the 'improved integration file' etc - chat works fine stand-alone but no integration with phpbb3???

Any thoughts

Ah,
I've got the link with PHPBB3 - didn't realise I was logged into my forums at the time - can log in fine with other users etc.

The chat is stand-alone though - I was hoping it would integrate with the board (get a chat thing at the top etc) is there anyway this can be done?

Thanks

I too am searching to find a way to have chat a part of phpbb3 so that people dont have to go back and forth, its too much a pain. If it were a pop up chat that would be ok I guess, but integrated from what I have found isnt any big thing. Im still between two programs and nothing is 'integrated'.

got it all installed at www.thedriftersclan.co.cc/chatroom/index.php

however its not integrated, i log into my phpbb3 forum and goto that link and it asks me to login again? also i've set in chat admin panel to not allow registration and its giving me a register link when its asking for name and password.

The integration involves linking the user database of the two applications.  When integrated, the chatroom uses the PhpBB 3 database to authenticate login requests.  When running standalone, the chatroom uses its own user database to authenticate the login requests.

A quick question, it there any way to embed the chat into a page on phpBB3 as a chatbox?

Because this is the perfect chat for my site, but I need to embed it. Like into a page called chat.php

If anyone could help, please do. Thank you

Okay everyone I'm back. This time I'm registered.

Does anyone know how to embed it into like phpBB3's footer or something?Huh

And I don't see why everyone is having soooo many problems. If you follow the instructions, it will work.

I got it to work first try. Just make sure you have them both working alone first.

I don't understand how to integrate the alpha version of X7chat 3 with phpbb3

Could someone perhaps clarify how to do this? Surely it must be possible since integrating v2 is. Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing.  I'm trying to do exactly that as well.

Okay, we're running 2.0.5.1 on the site we're setting up, and I followed the instructions and I'm still getting the login screen for the chat. It's not just taking me into the chat system. I'm still having to log in separately from the forums. Any ideas anyone?

Don't know if you need any of this, but the board is phpbb3, X7Chat version 2.0.5.1. Host is a Linux running php 5.2.13 with mysql version 5.1.47. If you need more information, just ask.
