Hello,

I have been using X7 Chat for sometime as it does function. However, I have gotten tired of the Red Xs. angry

So, I cannot find any documentation on how to Un-Install X7 Chat. Do I just delete all the files? huh

The reason I want to Un-Install is so that I can Re-Install to try to get rid of the Red Xs. angry

I have attached a screen shot. smiley

I wait for your reply,

There is no screenshot, not even a "Red X" rolleyes
To uninstall just remove the folder you installed x7chat to and delete the resp. database tables.

Looks like if there're some images missing, thats why you see "Red X".
You should look into your current theme if there're all images.

Okay. Thanks smiley I will look in the "main" directory for x7chat and see if I can find that directory because I don't think it would be in the database.  You have been a big help and I really appreciate it. cheesy

Okay, I did as you said to delete the previous x7chat, then I created a folder (chat) in my SMF Forum folder, then I uploaded all the directories and files, then I did the CHMOD to 777 according to the documentation, then I went to the install.php and installed it with EVERYTHING said OK.
When I try to log in I get errors.  I attached a sceen shot

I will just hazard a guess here.. it looks to me like you are missing all the image files, as the red X indicates  a broken link to an image.  The image files are supposed to be in the /themes/ folder in your specific install.
The following is an excerpt of the source code for one of the buttons on the page;  the portion i have made BOLD indicates the location of the missing image files....

.smileybutton {
            border: 1px solid #256087;
            background: /url(./themes/x7chat2/selectbar.gif);
            cursor: pointer;
            color: black;

They are .gif files and must be uploaded in binary mode with your ftp client. Some ftp clients fail to switch to binary mode if they are set to 'auto' to do your upload.

Best of luck.

Thank you for your assistance.  Sometimes I feel like a rock, becauuse I just now realized that I attached the WRONG screenshot. *sighs* at this point I will delete the chat folder and let you know that I don't know what is going on with either of my FTP progams. Can't get them to connect, so I have used my host's which has you select one at a time. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to wipe and then create all the directories and subdirectories and then upload the files.   Will try again tonight.

Well, it has been eleven (11) days, with no reply, they aparently deleted my username. Hmmm,
The name you submitted cannot be used, because it is or contains a reserved name.
Guess I will delete software and go with Ajax instead.
Best of luck to everyone else
