Both of you need to be in a room (you need to be in your private room).  Then there are two ways you can invite him to join your room.  Either type "/invite username" (where username is his/her username) or click on next to the room name above the online list and select Invite from the drop down menu.  Select your friend's username on the next screen to invite them to chat.

If you friend already knows the name of the room he can join it by entering some public room and typing "/join roomname" (where roomname is the name of the private room).

Documentation for the chat is available at http://x7chat.com/help (http://x7chat.com/help), it has a complete list of all command line functions.

Now, this user that is unable to chat, is it only one particular user or all users that come?
